Mission
The Flagstaff International Relief Effort (F.I.R.E.) places aid directly in the hands of the people. We are dedicated to providing resources and support to populations at risk in developing countries impacted by poverty, political instability and natural disasters.

Brief Background

The Flagstaff International Relief Effort is a non-profit, non-religious, non-political grass roots organization based in Flagstaff, AZ. Our efforts are currently focused on Mongolia. F.I.R.E. exerts great effort to find those in need and personally hand them aid and training.

Since 1999 F.I.R.E. has completed six distribution trips and shipped nine 40-foot containers to Mongolia. We have hand delivered 60 tons of winter clothing to 50,000 individuals, and provided 80 computers and 6,000 English books to one dozen schools. In addition, we have delivered $610,000 worth of medical supplies and training to over three-dozen clinics and hospitals.

On behalf of the F.I.R.E. Board of Directors, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the end of the clothing project. The logistics and expenses (mainly high fuel costs and import taxes in Mongolia) associated with the clothing project make it unrealistic to maintain while developing our medical and educational programs. more information...

While we will not be doing a clothing distribution trip in 2008 and are no longer accepting donations of used clothing, we currently have enough winter clothing packed and stored for a final clothing distribution trip in 2009. We will continue to accept hand made items for the Dulaan Project, which will be distributed during the 2009 trip and our future trips. more information...

Needs

• Computers needed. We are desperately in need of new office computers. F.I.R.E. uses Apple computers. We are in need of a G5 tower or Mac Pro and a MacBook Pro. Please contact us for more information.

• Office volunteers needed. We need help keeping up with the office work. There is a great variety of opportunities to help. Please contact us for more information.

• Dulaan volunteer needed. We need someone to help us with the picking up and packing of the Dulaan items as well as data entry and maintenance. Please contact us for more information.

• 100 sq ft space needed. We need a small space in Flagstaff to sort and pack the Dulaan items. This would be a long term need. Please contact us for more information.
