Dulaan Project |
This project seeks to inspire the generous spirit of the knitting community to help meet the urgent needs of Mongolia’s impoverished people.
Mongolia’s winter is extreme; the capital city, Ulaanbaatar, is the coldest capital in the world. It rarely gets above freezing on winter days, and can often plunge to -40°F at night. To survive, many of the homeless live in the heating ducts below the nation’s cities. Warm, well-made clothing can allow a child to go to school or an adult to go to work; restore a sense of dignity; and, in some cases, literally save a life.
While we are still accepting the hand made items, we are no longer able to ship them to Mongolia. Because we have a permanent office in Mongolia you can mail your boxes to Mongolia directly. From our Mongolian office, we will gladly distribute them to the most needy of people. FIRE You are also welcome to mail your boxes to our Arizona office. Items sent to the Arizona office will be distributed in the United States. FIRE
When shipping your items, please include the “Inventory Form” and your email address. A link to the Inventory Form is found at the bottom of this page. Your email address will allow us to easily notify you when you box arrives, especially if you send it to Mongolia.
