 FIRE is facilitating the vaccination for hepatitis B for health care workers in selected provinces who test negative through the NIH research project. FIRE hopes to expand this program nationwide in future years. To date, FIRE has supported the vaccination of 142 health care workers in two provinces.
The health care environment serving as one of the leading forms of transmission for hepatitis in Mongolia. With less than 7% of health care workers vaccinated against hepatitis B, vaccination of health care workers is a vital step in prevention of hepatitis in Mongolia.
